Within the framework of the MIROMEN program, 11 whales were equipped with GPS tags in order to better understand their migratory flows.

This 15th Conference of the Parties (COP15) to the Convention on Biological Diversity, chaired by China, was held in Montreal from 7 to 19 December 2022. It ended with the publication of an ambitious agreement to stop the loss of biodiversity and restore it by setting quantified targets with a monitoring framework. The French Biodiversity Agency (OFB) was present at this historic event.

Several resolutions in favor of wetlands were adopted at the 14th Conference of the Contracting Parties (COP14) to the Ramsar Convention on wetlands.

Under the umbrella of the United Nations, the 15th Conference of the Parties (COP15) of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) is being held in Montreal from December 7 to 19, 2022. The objective of this conference is the adoption of the post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF), which is composed of 4 major objectives, broken down into 22 targets to be achieved before 2030 and 2050 in order to stop the biodiversity loss and to "live in harmony with nature".

The French biodiversity Agency (OFB) and the Bordeaux branch of the Central Office for the Fight against Environmental and Public Health Violations (OCLAESP) have dismantled a major international traffic in live animals of protected species. After months of investigation, four arrests were made on French territory, including a woman suspected of being the head of the trafficking network. Servals, parrots, monkeys, meerkats, squirrels... these species bought at low prices abroad were then resold via social networks, all over France.

After a first phase, organized from October 11 to 15, 2021 in Kunming (China), the 15th Conference of the Contracting Parties (COP15) to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (UNCBD) will be held from December 7 to 19, 2022 in Montreal.

The French biodiversity Agency (OFB) will be present this year at the COP 19 CITES as part of the French delegation. In collaboration with the French Ministry of Ecological Transition in charge of implementing CITES control, the OFB brings its expertise and technical knowledge in monitoring the various activities governed by the CITES Convention.

In July 2022, Sudan announced the designation under the Ramsar Convention of a 9,500 km² wetland: the inner Delta of Khor Abu Habil. This recognition is the result of more than 10 years of international cooperation, led partly by the French biodiversity Agency (OFB).

The trend of a decrease in accidents, observed over the last 20 years, is confirmed, despite a slight increase compared to last year. These results reflect the efforts made on safety and training by the hunting community.
